Discover Volvo CE’s Upgraded Articulated Haulers for 2025

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has announced updates to their line of articulated haulers. The updates include performance upgrades, added safety features, an increase in fuel efficiency, and optimized operator controls. Here is everything that you need to know about Volvo EC’s revamped line of articulated haulers.

Which Models Are Being Revamped?

The models being revamped for 2025 include the A25, A30, A35, A40, A45, and A60. The A50, an all-new 50-ton hauler, has also been revealed as part of this update. According to Volvo CE, the A50 is the only full-suspension machine in its class, resulting in shorter cycle times, per-hour production increases, and lower costs when compared to its standard suspension competition.

What Is New With Volvo’s Articulated Haulers?

Volvo CE’s sales team says that with these updates, “the best just got better.” The Swedish manufacturer was already a leader in the heavy equipment industry, and now with a revamped line of articulated haulers, they have doubled down on that distinction.

When it comes to performance and efficiency, there are a few noteworthy changes. Volvo engineers developed a new transmission system designed to cut back on fuel consumption. They also updated the electronic system to further reduce energy use across the line of haulers. Also helping with fuel efficiency is the Volvo drivetrain with Terrain Memory. This feature allows the machine to remember and identify slippery road segments.

Steering and control are further enhanced by a hydro-mechanical steering system along with 100% differential locks and an all-terrain bogie. The revamped haulers also come with Volvo Dynamic Drive which offers predictive gear selection that adapts to driving conditions in real-time.

Volvo also made improvements to safety and maintenance. New harness anchor points inside the cab meet both OSHA and WorkSafeBC standards. A repositioned door and panels with focused lighting on the stairs and platform make entering the cab easier and safer. Longer service intervals and easier internal access were also a point of focus, with a new access ladder under the hood and an industry-leading greasing interval of 250 hours. What’s more, the entire engine compartment is now illuminated, making maintenance easier in low-light situations.

Volvo’s engineers also had comfort in mind, with a fully-redesigned cab and a bevy of new operator features. Cab improvements include a larger floor area, an adjustable seat, Bluetooth connectivity, ergonomic levers, new hanging pedals and steering wheel, a heated/cooled storage box, and reduced in-cab noise. Operators will also appreciate a lower hood profile and larger window panels for enhanced visibility.

Other improvements to Volvo EC’s revamped line of articulated haulers include an updated media display system, push-button starts, reinforced axles, and integration with digital tools like Connected Map, Performance Indicator, and Site Optimization. Perhaps most importantly, Volvo engineered these haulers to be compatible with future upgrades and smart systems, ensuring they can be updated as necessary with cutting-edge technology and tools.

Volvo CE: Moving the Heavy Equipment Industry Forward

These upgrades to Volvo CE’s articulated haulers comes on the heels of changes to their line of excavators in 2024. By continually pushing the envelope and making changes to their equipment, Volvo sets the standard for construction equipment manufacturers. Look for select upgraded articulated haulers, including the A35, A40, A45, and A50, to be available within the first few months of 2025, with the remaining models coming to market later in the year.
